Have you ever thought that you didnt belong in a space or place you were occupying? You questioned your capabilities, pedigree or even whether or not you should even be there? Well if so, you are not alone. I have struggled with these questions for quite some time as I’ve had the privilege to occupy spaces and places I didnt think I was worthy of. But what I’ve come to realize is that success doesn’t begin when the door opens. It begins when you believe you belong in the room.
For a long time, I thought success was something external, an opportunity, a title, a moment when someone finally recognized my potential. But what I’ve learned is this: opportunity doesn’t create confidence. Confidence creates readiness.
Many people are waiting for a breakthrough when what they really need is belief.
Belief that they are capable.
Belief that they are prepared.
Belief that they don’t need permission to become who they already feel called to be.
In Success Is In Your Reach, I talk about the importance of owning your journey before the results show up. Too often, we underestimate how much internal work precedes external success. We want the win, but we avoid the becoming.
And becoming requires belief.
There were seasons in my life where I had the credentials, the experience, and the work ethic—but still wrestled with whether I truly belonged in certain spaces. Not because I wasn’t qualified, but because I hadn’t fully embraced who I was becoming. I was waiting for affirmation instead of standing in alignment.
The shift happened when I realized this truth: I don’t need to wait until I feel ready to walk in purpose. Readiness is built by walking.
Success didn’t feel different overnight, but I did. I stopped shrinking. I stopped waiting. I stopped questioning whether I was “enough” and started asking whether I was being faithful to what I’d been given.
That shift changed everything.
Here’s what I want you to reflect on this week:
I am prepared for what I’m praying for.
I trust the process that is shaping me.
Success is not distant, it is within my reach.
Success isn’t about becoming someone else.
It’s about finally believing in who you already are becoming.
